Menakjubkan Wisata Mangrove Teluk Ba'a: Potensi Tersembunyi di Nias Utara
Amazing Ba'a Bay Mangrove Tourism: Hidden Potential in North Nias
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic still seems to be quite significant, especially in the tourism sector, especially in the Ba'a Bay Mangrove Tourism Area, Sisarahili, Sawo District, North Nias Regency. Tourist visits in the area are not as dense as before, only ranging from 10 to 20 visitors every day.
This situation certainly has an impact on the lives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around the tourist area. The decrease in the number of visitors has caused the number of MSMEs to decrease as well. According to Faoziduhu Telaumbanua, an MSME actor, currently there are only 2 MSME actors left who are still running their businesses.
Not only the pandemic, the lack of supporting facilities such as parking lots and pedestrian roads is also another factor hampering tourists' interest in visiting. Faoziduhu hopes that the government will immediately revitalize the tourist area as previously promised.
Local residents such as Fatisokhi Telaumbanua said that the residents felt happy and proud to have this mangrove forest tourist attraction in their village. However, he said, there needs to be improvements and additions to such crucial facilities. These include adequate parking, accommodation facilities for tourists, as well as better regional planning.
Local residents believe that by improving the quality of mangrove tourism, both facilities and infrastructure, it will attract more tourists to visit. This will not only increase the number of visitors, but also has the potential to stimulate the economy of the surrounding community. Therefore, the authorities are required to immediately respond and follow up on public complaints.
