Menurut Ciles, alasan di balik peningkatan permintaan ini adalah karena telur adalah bahan makanan pokok yang terlibat dalam proses pembuatan kue khas lebaran yang sangat populer di Indonesia. “Harga telur naik, dari harga sebelumnya sekitar Rp 55.000 per tray menjadi Rp 57.000 per tray. Kenaikan ini disebabkan oleh penundaan pasokan dan juga peningkatan permintaan telur,” kilahnya saat survei pasar pada Rabu, 27 Maret 2023.

Namun, sisi positifnya, barang-barang pokok lainnya seperti minyak makan, beras, dan berbagai jenis sembako masih dipertahankan dengan harga stabil. Meski konsumen mengalami kenaikan harga pada telur, mereka masih bisa bernafas lega karena harga kebutuhan lainnya belum mengalami kenaikan yang sama.
